De compras en el mercado
Disculpe, ¿puede decirme dónde están las rebajas de hoy? La señora del puesto me dice que hay descuentos especialmente en fruta y en atún. A ver, el precio del atún ha bajado incluso más este mes. Quiero pelar la fruta en casa para hacer un postre especial.
Por eso decido comprar bastante, pero la bolsa ya está muy ocupada. Claro que el mercado se ve como un lugar social y limpio, y me gusta venir aquí cada año.
Excuse me, can you tell me where today's discounts are? The lady at the stall tells me there are deals especially on fruit and tuna. Let's see, the price of the tuna has dropped even more this month. I want to peel the fruit at home to make a special dessert.
That's why I decide to buy quite a bit, but the bag is already very full. Obviously the market looks like a social and clean place, and I enjoy coming here every year.

Preparativos para la cena familiar
Marta limpia la cocina para tener todo listo antes de las ocho. Compra vino y flores por el camino a casa. Los suegros vienen a cenar. Quiere preparar algo especial para ellos.
Pone la mesa con los manteles buenos y enciende dos velas. Está cocinando un estofado porque sabe que les encanta. Todavía hay tiempo, pero ella está un poco nerviosa.
Marta cleans the kitchen to have everything ready before eight. She picks up wine and flowers on the way home. The in-laws are coming for dinner. She wants to make something special for them.
She sets the table with the good tablecloths and lights two candles. She is making a stew because she knows they love it. There is still time, but she is a little nervous.
Una visita al acuario con mi sobrina
Hoy llevo a mi sobrina al acuario por primera vez. Ella quiere ver todos los animales del mar. Nos paramos frente a una gran pecera y vemos unos cangrejos en el fondo. Los cangrejos caminan de lado. Mi sobrina se ríe y pregunta por qué lo hacen así.
Le explico que sus patas están hechas para moverse de esa manera. Ella se queda mirándolos por un buen rato. Al final, compramos una postal de un cangrejo para recordar el día.
Today I'm taking my niece to the aquarium for the first time. She wants to see all the sea animals. We stop in front of a large tank and spot some crabs at the bottom. Crabs walk sideways. My niece laughs and asks why they do that.
I explain that their legs are built to move that way. She stays there watching them for quite a while. In the end, we buy a postcard of a crab to remember the day.
