Un domingo en el autobús
Ayer por la mañana, Renata tomó el autobús para ir al mercado. El pasillo era estrecho y había mucha gente con bolsas y paquetes.
Ella se sentó cerca de la ventana y empezó a peinarse la muñeca... no, el cabello — tenía los auriculares puestos y no le importaba nada más. De repente, la señora a su lado empezó a chismear sobre todo el vecindario. A decir verdad, Renata no quería escuchar tanto, pero ese autobús tardaba mucho en llegar.
Yesterday morning, Renata took the bus to go to the market. The aisle was narrow and there were lots of people with bags and packages.
She sat down near the window and started combing her hair — she had her headphones in and didn't care about anything else. Suddenly, the woman next to her started gossiping about the whole neighborhood. To tell the truth, Renata didn't want to listen so much, but that bus was taking forever to arrive.

El concierto de anoche [anecdote]
Fui al concierto de Rosalía anoche con mi hermano. No sabíamos muy bien qué esperar, pero desde la primera canción nos enganchó. Al salir, mi hermano me miró y me dijo: «Oye, estuvo mamón». Tenía razón — fue una noche increíble.
I went to the Rosalía concert last night with my brother. We weren't really sure what to expect, but she hooked us from the very first song. On the way out, my brother looked at me and said, "Hey, it was amazing." He was right — it was an incredible night.

Una lección de geografía en clase
La profesora Renata quería enseñarnos los continentes. Puso un globo terráqueo grande encima de su escritorio. Miramos el globo terráqueo en clase. Ella señaló América del Sur y nos preguntó dónde estaba Brasil.
Yo levanté la mano y respondí sin pensar mucho. Al final, toda la clase tenía que encontrar su país favorito en el globo. Fue una lección muy divertida.
Our teacher Renata wanted to teach us the continents. She placed a large globe on top of her desk. We looked at the globe in class. She pointed to South America and asked us where Brazil was.
I raised my hand and answered without thinking too hard. At the end, the whole class had to find their favorite country on the globe. It was a really fun lesson.
La mañana tranquila de Remedios
Remedios trabaja toda la semana y necesita descansar. Los sábados duerme hasta tarde. Cuando se despierta, son casi las diez de la mañana.
Va a la cocina y prepara un café con leche. Se sienta junto a la ventana y escucha los pájaros afuera. No tiene que ir a ningún lado, así que disfruta la calma.
Remedios works all week and needs to rest. On Saturdays she sleeps in. When she wakes up, it is almost ten in the morning.
She goes to the kitchen and makes a café con leche. She sits by the window and listens to the birds outside. She doesn't have to go anywhere, so she enjoys the quiet.
