Lorena se despertó temprano cuando el sol apenas salía. Quería hacer senderismo por el bosque con su amiga Britt.
Pues, cada vez que salían al campo, Lorena elegía el camino más largo. Esta vez, Britt señaló una paloma salvaje posada detrás de un árbol caído. ¡Epa! —dijo Britt en voz baja—, me fascina observar los animales así, de cerca. Lorena sacó su teléfono para compartir la foto inmediatamente con su familia.
Lorena woke up early when the sun had barely risen. She wanted to hike through the forest with her friend Britt.
Well, every time they headed out to the countryside, Lorena chose the longest trail. This time, Britt pointed out a wild pigeon perched behind a fallen tree. Whoa! —said Britt quietly— it fascinates me to watch animals like this, up close. Lorena took out her phone to share the photo with her family right away.

Un viaje de fin de semana a la montaña [anecdote]
Pablo pasó el fin de semana en la sierra con unos amigos. El mejor fue de todo el viaje fue levantarse temprano y ver el amanecer desde la cima. El aire frío y el silencio lo dejaron sin palabras. Cuando volvió a casa el domingo, ya estaba planeando la próxima escapada.
Pablo spent the weekend in the mountains with some friends. The best thing about the whole trip was waking up early and watching the sunrise from the summit. The cold air and the silence left him speechless. When he got home on Sunday, he was already planning the next getaway.

Cocinando patatas en casa
Berenice saca las patatas del horno y las pone en la mesa. Huelen muy bien y tienen un color dorado precioso. Ella les da la vuelta con un tenedor para revisarlas. Las patatas están crujientes.
Su hermano Tomás entra a la cocina y pregunta si ya está lista la cena. Berenice le dice que sí y que puede sentarse. Los dos se sirven las patatas y empiezan a comer.
Berenice takes the potatoes out of the oven and puts them on the table. They smell wonderful and have a beautiful golden colour. She turns them over with a fork to check on them. The potatoes are crunchy.
Her brother Tomás walks into the kitchen and asks if dinner is ready yet. Berenice tells him it is and that he can sit down. They both help themselves to the potatoes and start eating.
