Un día de compras con Remedios [anecdote]
Normalmente, Remedios y yo hacemos las compras los sábados por la mañana. Hoy el viento estaba muy fuerte y el paisaje afuera se veía salvaje. Antes de salir, ella fue a inspeccionar su lista para no olvidar nada.
Yo la esperaba dentro del carro cuando de repente empecé a tener hipo. Remedios salió con una piña enorme y se rió al verme. Ella es muy simpática, así que dijo "de nada" antes de que yo pudiera agradecerle. ¡Guau!, ¡qué mañana tan rara!
Usually, Remedios and I do the groceries on Saturday mornings. Today the wind was very strong and the scenery outside looked wild. Before leaving, she went to inspect her list so she wouldn't forget anything.
I was waiting for her inside the car when I suddenly got the hiccups. Remedios came out with a huge pineapple and laughed when she saw me. She is very likeable, so she said "you're welcome" before I could even thank her. Wow, what a strange morning!

Recuerdos de un viaje a Lisboa [anecdote]
El verano pasado fui a Lisboa con mi prima y fue un viaje increíble. Visitamos museos, comimos pastéis de nata y caminamos por los barrios históricos. El mejor fue de todo el viaje fue el atardecer desde el Mirador de Santa Catarina. Nunca voy a olvidar esa vista sobre el río.
Last summer I went to Lisbon with my cousin and it was an incredible trip. We visited museums, ate pastéis de nata, and walked through the historic neighbourhoods. The best thing about the whole trip was the sunset from the Santa Catarina viewpoint. I'm never going to forget that view over the river.
Aprender a cocinar arroz [inner_monologue]
Hoy intenté hacer arroz por primera vez y no salió bien. Me cuesta mucho controlar el fuego y el agua al mismo tiempo. Siempre se me pega o queda demasiado blando. Mañana voy a buscar un tutorial en vídeo para practicar de nuevo.
Today I tried to make rice for the first time and it didn't turn out well. I find it hard to control the heat and the water at the same time. It always sticks to the pan or ends up too mushy. Tomorrow I'm going to look up a video tutorial and try again.

Prepararse para dormir [anecdote]
Esa noche, Tomás estaba muy cansado después del trabajo. Se fue a su cuarto y empezó a preparar la cama. Me gusta dormir con dos almohadas. Buscó la segunda almohada en el armario, pero no estaba ahí.
Entonces recordó que su hermana la había llevado al sofá. Fue a buscarla y, por fin, pudo acostarse tranquilo.
That night, Tomás was very tired after work. He went to his room and started getting the bed ready. I like to sleep with two pillows. He looked for the second pillow in the wardrobe, but it wasn't there.
Then he remembered that his sister had taken it to the sofa. He went to get it and, at last, he was able to lie down in peace.
Desayuno en casa de la abuela [anecdote]
Óscar llega a casa de su abuela por la mañana. Ella tiene pan del día anterior en la mesa. Él toma un trozo y lo muerde. El pan está muy duro. Su abuela le dice que lo compró ayer por la tarde. Entonces, él decide tostar el pan para poder comerlo.
Óscar arrives at his grandmother's house in the morning. She has bread from the day before sitting on the table. He picks up a piece and takes a bite. The bread is very hard. His grandmother tells him she bought it the previous afternoon. So he decides to toast it so he can eat it.
