Una visita al médico de cabecera [anecdote]
Lorena lleva tres días mareada y no sabe por qué. Ayer decidió ir al médico para contarle cada síntoma.
El doctor le preguntó si comía bien y dormía suficientes horas. Al principio, Lorena dijo que sí, pero luego admitió que no compraba verduras — ni una zanahoria — desde hace semanas. El médico le explicó que ese tipo de dieta puede causar problemas.
Claro, Lorena se sintió un poco tonta al escucharlo. Le prometió al doctor que iba a escribir una lista de compras esa misma tarde. Él le hizo una seña para que esperara y le dio un folleto con recetas sencillas.
Lorena has been dizzy for three days and doesn't know why. Yesterday she decided to go to the doctor to describe every symptom.
The doctor asked her if she was eating well and getting enough sleep. At first, Lorena said yes, but then admitted she hadn't bought any vegetables — not even a carrot — in weeks. The doctor explained that that kind of diet can cause problems.
Of course, Lorena felt a little silly hearing that. She promised the doctor she was going to write a shopping list that very afternoon. He made a signal to her to wait and handed her a leaflet with simple recipes.

Esta mañana entré a la panadería nueva del barrio. Me agrada mucho el olor a pan recién hecho cuando abro la puerta. Pedí un croissant de mantequilla y un café con leche. Creo que voy a volver todos los sábados.
This morning I went into the new bakery in the neighbourhood. The smell of freshly baked bread pleases me so much when I open the door. I ordered a butter croissant and a white coffee. I think I'm going to come back every Saturday.

Una mañana difícil para Rodrigo [inner_monologue]
El despertador de Rodrigo suena a las seis de la mañana. Él lo apaga y cierra los ojos otra vez. Odio levantarme temprano. Pero tiene que estar en el trabajo a las ocho, así que no tiene opción.
Se levanta despacio, va a la cocina y prepara un café. Mientras lo toma, mira por la ventana y ve que está lloviendo. Suspira y busca su paraguas.
Rodrigo's alarm goes off at six in the morning. He turns it off and closes his eyes again. I hate getting up early. But he has to be at work by eight, so he has no choice.
He gets up slowly, goes to the kitchen, and makes a coffee. While he drinks it, he looks out the window and sees that it's raining. He sighs and looks for his umbrella.
Un accidente antes del trabajo [anecdote]
Rodrigo se prepara rápido porque llega tarde al trabajo. Coge su taza de café y camina hacia la puerta. De repente, tropieza con la mochila y derrama el café encima. La camisa está manchada de café.
No tiene tiempo para cambiarse, así que busca algo en el armario. Solo encuentra una camisa arrugada, pero se la pone igual. Sale corriendo y espera que nadie lo note en la reunión.
Rodrigo is getting ready quickly because he is running late for work. He grabs his mug of coffee and walks toward the door. Suddenly, he trips over his backpack and spills the coffee all over himself. The shirt is stained with coffee.
He doesn't have time to change, so he looks for something in the wardrobe. He only finds a wrinkled shirt, but he puts it on anyway. He rushes out and hopes nobody notices at the meeting.
