Ahora Lorena está en la cocina preparando el almuerzo. Quiere hacer un guiso de cordero con pimiento rojo y cilantro.
La camiseta que lleva está manchada de aceite, pero no le importa. Creo que el guiso va a quedar muy rico si es cuidadosa con el fuego. No debe perder el tiempo — los invitados llegan en una hora.
Now Lorena is in the kitchen making lunch. She wants to make a lamb stew with red capsicum and coriander.
The t-shirt she's wearing is stained with oil, but she doesn't mind. I think that the stew is going to turn out very tasty if she is careful with the heat. She must not waste time — the guests are arriving in an hour.

Marta presentó su idea delante de todo el equipo. Al principio nadie dijo nada, pero después su jefe empezó a asentir despacio. Luego los demás también estuvieron de acuerdo. Marta salió de la sala muy contenta.
Marta presented her idea in front of the whole team. At first nobody said anything, but then her boss started to nod slowly. Afterward the others agreed as well. Marta left the room feeling very happy.

Ayer tuve mi examen de matemáticas por la mañana. Estaba muy nervioso antes de entrar al aula. El examen fue fácil. Terminé en menos de una hora y salí con una sonrisa.
Por la tarde, llamé a mi madre para contarle la buena noticia. Ella se alegró mucho y dijo que íbamos a cenar juntos para celebrar.
Yesterday I had my math exam in the morning. I was really nervous before walking into the classroom. The test was easy. I finished in under an hour and walked out smiling.
That afternoon, I called my mom to tell her the good news. She was really happy and said we were going to have dinner together to celebrate.
Una visita guiada por la ciudad [anecdote]
Fermín llega al punto de encuentro con su grupo de turistas a las nueve de la mañana. Hoy va a guiar a visitantes de Francia, Alemania y Japón. Los guías turísticos hablan varios idiomas. Él da la bienvenida a todos en tres lenguas y el grupo empieza a caminar hacia el centro histórico.
Por el camino, Fermín explica la historia de los edificios más antiguos de la ciudad. Los turistas hacen muchas preguntas y él contesta a todas con paciencia. Al final del recorrido, el grupo le aplaude y él se siente muy satisfecho.
Fermín arrives at the meeting point with his group of tourists at nine in the morning. Today he is going to guide visitors from France, Germany, and Japan. Tour guides speak several languages. He welcomes everyone in three languages and the group starts walking toward the historic center.
Along the way, Fermín explains the history of the city's oldest buildings. The tourists ask many questions and he answers all of them patiently. At the end of the tour, the group applauds him and he feels very satisfied.
