Una visita al zoológico con los niños [anecdote]
Llevé a mis sobrinos al zoológico la semana pasada y la verdad fue un día agotador. Los niños estaban muy traviesos — no aguantaban quedarse delante de ningún animal más de diez segundos.
Entre tú y yo, casi no podía más a mediodía. Pero justo antes de salir, llegamos a la cima de una colina pequeña y vimos a los leones desde arriba — y ahí se quedaron los dos en silencio, con los ojos abiertos. Fue un milagro.
I took my niece and nephew to the zoo last week, and honestly it was an exhausting day. The kids were so naughty — they couldn't bear standing in front of any animal for more than ten seconds.
Between you and me, I was nearly at my limit by midday. But just before we left, we reached the top of a small hill and looked down at the lions — and there the two of them went completely silent, eyes wide open. It was a miracle.

Marco está aprendiendo a conducir en la ciudad y tiene muchos nervios. Dice que le cuesta mucho calcular las distancias cuando aparca en paralelo. También tiene problemas con el tráfico rápido en la autopista. Pero su instructor le dice que con práctica todo va a mejorar.
Marco is learning to drive in the city and he's very nervous. He says he finds it hard to judge distances when parallel parking. He also struggles with fast traffic on the highway. But his instructor tells him that with practice everything will get better.

Una sorpresa en el buzón [anecdote]
Dorota llegó a casa después del trabajo y fue directamente al buzón. Sacó varios papeles y los miró uno por uno. El recibo de la luz llegó por correo. Era más alto que el mes pasado, así que se preocupó un poco.
Entró a la cocina y llamó a su compañera de piso, Renata. Le dijo que tenían que hablar sobre los gastos del apartamento. Las dos se sentaron a la mesa y empezaron a revisar las cuentas juntas.
Dorota got home after work and went straight to the mailbox. She pulled out several pieces of paper and looked at them one by one. The electric bill came in the mail. It was higher than last month, so she got a little worried.
She went into the kitchen and called out to her flatmate, Renata. She told her they needed to talk about the apartment expenses. The two of them sat down at the table and started going over the bills together.
