Acostando a los niños traviesos [diary]
Esta noche tuve que acostar a mis sobrinos, pero son muy traviesos y no querían dormir. Uno pedía agua, el otro pedía té, y los dos seguían saltando en la cama.
Sin embargo, logré calmarlos con un cuento corto. Aunque al principio no querían escuchar, al final se quedaron dormidos — ese momento me pone feliz de verdad.
Tonight I had to put my nephews to bed, but they are very mischievous and didn't want to sleep. One was asking for water, the other was asking for tea, and both of them kept jumping on the bed.
Nevertheless, I managed to calm them down with a short story. Although they didn't want to listen at first, they finally fell asleep — that moment truly makes me happy.

El vaso roto en la cocina [anecdote]
Martín estaba lavando los platos cuando se le resbaló el vaso favorito de su madre. Cayó al suelo y se hizo pedazos en un segundo. — ¡Carajo! —gritó, mirando los trozos de vidrio por todas partes. Recogió los pedazos con cuidado y esperó que nadie lo hubiera escuchado.
Martín was washing the dishes when his mother's favourite glass slipped out of his hands. It hit the floor and shattered in an instant. — "Damn it!" he shouted, looking at the pieces of glass scattered everywhere. He carefully picked up the shards and hoped no one had heard him.
El autobús de la mañana [anecdote]
Sara llegó corriendo a la parada justo cuando el autobús cerraba las puertas. Golpeó el cristal con la mano, pero el conductor no la vio. Cogió su teléfono y buscó el siguiente horario en la aplicación. Tenía que esperar veinte minutos más y llegó tarde a la reunión.
Sara came running to the stop just as the bus was closing its doors. She knocked on the glass, but the driver didn't see her. She took out her phone and looked up the next schedule on the app. She had to wait another twenty minutes and ended up late to the meeting.

Un caracol en el jardín [anecdote]
Esta mañana, Tomeu encuentra un caracol en el jardín. Lo mira durante unos minutos y se sienta en el suelo a observarlo. El caracol es muy lento. Tomeu quiere ver adónde va, así que decide esperar. El caracol avanza hacia una hoja verde y empieza a comer. Tomeu sonríe y vuelve a entrar en casa.
This morning, Tomeu finds a snail in the garden. He watches it for a few minutes and sits down on the ground to observe it. The snail is very slow. Tomeu wants to see where it's going, so he decides to wait. The snail moves toward a green leaf and starts to eat. Tomeu smiles and goes back inside.
Una tarde sospechosa en el metro [anecdote]
Rodrigo salió del trabajo tarde y tomó el metro de siempre. El vagón estaba casi vacío a esa hora.
Cuando bajó en su parada, empezó a caminar rápido hacia casa. Se percató de que alguien le seguía. Se paró en seco y se giró, pero no había nadie. Entonces vio su sombra en la pared y se rio solo.
Rodrigo left work late and took his usual metro line. The carriage was almost empty at that hour.
When he got off at his stop, he started walking quickly toward home. He noticed that someone was following him. He stopped dead and turned around, but there was nobody there. Then he saw his own shadow on the wall and laughed to himself.
